In 1987, desiring to move into different areas of ministry, Isaac Air Freight limited their engagements to part-time weekend performances, until 1991 when the hilarious fun of Isaac Air Freight came to a temporary end. From there Dan went into talk radio, then 10 years at CBS Television, followed by 3 years of pastoral ministry. As for Dave, he entered into a career in sales and today has become a successful sales manager for a large printing company in Orange County. Both men have been happily married to their wives for over 25 years and are actively involved with their families. Dan is the father of 3 and Dave the father of 4.
The original group's pioneering comedy is a wonderful memory of the past; but the eternal truths of their sketches are as relevant and true as the day they were first presented.

In 1978, Issac Air Freight recorded their first album entitled FUN IN THE SON. It was an immediate best seller among contemporary Christian audiences and by the time IN THE AIR/ON THE AIR, their second album (and first after the departure of friend Larry Watt) was released, the group’s touring schedule had grown enormously, and with it, the appeal for their insightful comic vision. 1980 brought the release of FOOLISH GUYS...TO CONFOUND THE WISE, an album aimed at the spiritual center of contemporary life, both inside and outside the church; a powerful statement in laughter.
In 1981, Dan and Dave began work on THE ISAAC AIR SHOW, a highly successful daily radio feature. The program was syndicated nation-wide on over 120 stations. The most popular selections from the show gave birth to two more albums, SNOOZE YA LOOZE and MY KINGDOM COME/THY KINGDOM COME.
Extensive touring and numerous television projects brought the group widespread recognition not only within the Gospel industry, but with a national, mainstream audience. Their growing popularity brought two more albums aimed at this audience outside the church walls. THE FREIGHT’S DESIGNER ALBUM (1985) and OVER OUR HEADS (1987) revealed their growth as artists and as communicators.

Isaac Air Freight was the original; the best known and most inventive comedy team in a field they almost single-handedly pioneered: Christian Comedy. Their unique style of satirical sketch comedy, humorously communicates piercing truths about the human condition, while introducing you to some of the most colorful and real characters you may ever have the pleasure of meeting.
The original members of Isaac Air Freight, Dan Rupple, Dave Toole and Larry Watt, teamed up in 1976 with the hope of building successful comedy careers. They were able to do just that, but in a way they never expected. They first gained considerable word of mouth attention around Southern California nightclubs, when in 1977, they each made a commitment to Christ. The dramatic personal changes they experienced quickly became evident in their direction as a group. Material that had its basis in cynicism and escapism steadily gave way to comedy that inspired their audiences spiritually and offered them a new lens to examine society’s values. Isaac Air Freight was born!

If there's one thing better than a comedy recording from the early 80's, it's a Christian comedy recording from the early 80's. These guys are wild! Their hilarious send-up of Leave it to Beaver called "Leave it to Squirrellie" is a riot! Eddie sure doesn't want Beaver–I mean Squirrellie–to paint the church! But hey, what else is he going to do when he isn't busy praying for Wally?
In the game show spoof "People Say the Darndest Things," they accuse contestants of taking the lord's name in vain during private moments and then read Bible verses telling them how they've gone against god. Luckily, by repenting, they can wipe their slate clean! Phew, that was a close one!
They also think television is a time waster and is only watched by assholes! Which seems to be a strange position for an evangelical operation to take, but hey, that's Jesus for you. Always with the smooth talk. -Sly Records

It takes a keen eye and a sharp wit to mine the gold from the piles of lame Christian records that fill the record bins of thrift stores across America. Suffice it to say, Mr. Poopy possesses such an eye and wit and, thus, I present you with these ridiculous recordings. Isaac Air Freight was a Christian comedy group who took a hard-line, fundamentalist approach for the most part, and cranked out a few albums in the 1970’s and 1980’s. These guys were by no means idiots and, unlike other contemporaries, actually possessed a fair degree of wit but, as one can only imagine, anything based on their kind of death-cult philosophy can do little but suck the fun out of just about anything!
What we have here is a skit on the evils of Punk Rock, featuring a fake band called “Kuss”. Actually, I think the band sounds pretty good—that “I’m Bored / You’re Bored” song really speaks to me! Classic stuff that I bet 99.9% of the punkers on the planet never had a chance to hear. I also offer up “Cult”, which I feel requires little explanation.
Take a closer look at the cover art below. On the front you have the guys preaching to a couple of scientist / mathematician types and a scholar, while on the back you see the scientists marginalized, wearing dunce caps, and the scholarly chap with his hat removed joining the gang in prayer—thus, the “fools are confounding the wise”! Get it? And the hilarity just goes on and on, so much so that I even uploaded the entire LP for you other nuts who get a kick out of getting into these people’s heads! Source: GlorifyTheTurd
