Hi everyone, hope the New Year has been going well for all of you!
New Posts
will continue this year. I have enough comedy and novelty album material to
last for the year.
File storage facilities were the big story in 2012. Some crashed and burned, some simply gave up and closed their doors. The industry focus (i.e. loss of sales) has not been on vintage comedy material, of course.
Locating files on the 'net took a big hit when R-a-p-i-d-s-h-a-r-e changed it's default file status to "PRIVATE" early in January 2013, even for files long stored on servers. All those links on forums, blogs, etc. will not work until the original authors update their account folders to PUBLIC status (it also affects business users who use R-a-p-i-s-h-a-r-e to store non-entertainment data.) And of course, S-h-a-r-e-b-e-e is gone.
The Post Count will
exceed 2000 in the first quarter of 2013. And this year I added Andrew
Dice Clay, Rodney Rude, Sinbad, Paul Rodriquez and Bill Hicks to the
role of "Vintage Stand-up Comedian". Their posts on the Classic blog
have been moved over to the Vintage blog and the search for all their
material will commence.
New features:
in 2012 I added images of the artists to each post when their face was
not clear in the album cover. I've recently started adding WANTED albums
at the bottom of each post. There have been minor format changes.
"Today in Comedy" was added in 2012, which was a lot of fun for me. But
there was so much research involved that I wasn't posting albums for a
while.

It's hard to believe this is the 7th Christmas for the Vintage Stand-up Comedy Blog! And, as in previous
years, I would ask you to take this opportunity to share some laughs with your family,
friends, co-workers, neighbors and enemies - whoever touches your life.
And say you care, while you can, to those who are
important to you, no matter the status of your relationship. Bad things
can happen in a blink… say something NOW so you don’t regret that you
didn't after they are gone.
