Born this day in 1910, Hugh Brannum, of  Sandwich, Illinois, actor, comedian, best remembered as Mr. Green Jeans, the farmer and animal lover on TV’s Captain Kangaroo. Known as Lumpy during his days with Fred Waring & His Pennsylvanians. He died 04/19/1987 from cancer at age 77.
