When I was a kid this was the time of year to mend fences. I'd apologize to the neighbors for mischief night pranks, or for other things boys do to their neighbors throughout the year. For example, one year I sling-shot a ball bearing through a neighbor's front picture window. The window didn't shatter, but I was stunned to see the curtain fly up when I let loose from about 40 yards away.
I wasn't always the first to step up and say "let's let bygones be bygones", or "let's have a better year." A cop lived a few doors away and said just that to me when I was 16. Anyway...
Please take this opportunity to share a laugh with your family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, enemies, whoever touches your life. C'mon, you know what's funny!
