    Rocky Graziano was an American boxer considered one of the greatest knockout artists in boxing history, and often displaying the capacity to take his opponent out with a single punch. He was ranked 23rd on Ring Magazine's list of the greatest punchers of all time.

    After his retirement from boxing, he became a well-known television comedian, co-hosting a short-lived series titled The Henny and Rocky Show with famous comedian Henny Youngman. He was also a semi-regular on NBC's The Martha Raye Show, portraying host Martha Raye's "boyfriend."

Marks was best known for appearances on American television series in the 1960s, particularly Dick Van Dyke, The Dean Martin Show and Merv Griffin shows. He appeared as a regular cast member in the first 19 episodes of the 1962-63 season of The Joey Bishop Show. In the 1965-1966 television season, Marks co-starred as Ed Robbins, a former U.S. Army sergeant, with John Forsythe in the role of Major Joe Foster in the sitcom, later changed to a drama, The John Forsythe Show on NBC. He also appeared in a number of films, including Peeper, Train Ride to Hollywood and Don't Miss the Boat. He was featured as the American Indian "Pink Cloud" in the 1967 ABC comedy Western, Rango, starring Tim Conway.

He attracted international attention with the surprise novelty hit song "Loving You Has Made Me Bananas" (also remembered by its lyric "Your red scarf matches your eyes"), recorded in May 1968, but parodying the medleys and other popular music conventions of the big band era. A re-release did similarly well in 1978, reaching number 25 in the UK Singles Chart.

Marks continued to perform into the 1980s, featuring in the sitcom You Again? as Harry, his last significant role.

He died on 28 November 1987, in Brigantine, New Jersey at the age of sixty-four.

How many time have we seen this guy! On the Basic Hip Digital Oddio blog, and of course the "How to Speak Hip" and "The Nervous Set" albums.

Del Close (March 9, 1934 – March 4, 1999) is considered one of the premier influences on modern improvisational theater. An actor, improviser, writer, and teacher, Close had a prolific career, appearing in a number of films and television shows. He was a co-author of the book Truth in Comedy along with partner Charna Halpern, which outlines techniques now common to longform improvisational theater and describes the overall structure of “Harold” which remains a common frame for longer improvisational scenes.
    At the age of 23, he became a member of the Compass Players in St. Louis which later became The Second City in Chicago.
    Close spent the early 1980s in New York, as "House Metaphysician" at Saturday Night Live, coaching the cast in the wake of producer Lorne Michaels' departure.   At any given time, roughly a quarter of Saturday Night Live’s cast has been composed of his former trainees.  He spent the mid-to-late 1980s and 1990s teaching improv, collaborating with Charna Halpern in Yes And Productions and Improv Olympic.
    During this period, Close acted in several movies, including portraying a corrupt alderman in The Untouchables and an English teacher in Ferris Bueller's Day Off.  Finally, Charna Halpern invited him to join her at the ImprovOlympic Theater, which she had founded and briefly run with Compass Players producer David Shepherd.

    Sam Kinison was an American stand-up comedian and actor known for his intense, harsh humor and politically incorrect genre. A former Pentecostal preacher, he performed stand-up routines that were most often characterized by an intense style, similar to enthusiastic preachers, punctuated by his trademark scream.

    On April 10, 1992, five days after he married his girlfriend Malika Souiri, Sam Kinison died after his white 1989 Pontiac Trans Am was struck by a pickup truck driven by a 17-year-old male who had been drinking alcohol. His wife survived the accident.
